August & September newsletter

Autumn seems to have arrived along with the desperately needed rain. We have had a fairly quiet month through August, especially due to the heat and hard ground. The postponed area sj at Glebe farm was to be just as hot as the previous date and had low entries overall due to this. However it meant by starting at 7am, classes were finished by lunchtime. We were represented by Rachel Stevenson in the 70& 80 and (me ) Fiona Iszchak in the 90 & 1m. Rachel managed a 3rd place and Fiona a 6th, but a pole in jumpoff in the 1m . Thankyou to everyone who came and supported our dressage series this summer. Our August show results are as follows. Intro B 1st Kerry Higgs 2ND Diane Muncaster 3rd Merryll Wheeler PRELIM 2 1s Charlotte Healey 2nd Jessica Robb 3rd Christine Upchurch PYO 1st Tilly Gill 2nd Karen Ward 3rd Karis Hynes The members league points will be added and overall winner announced and special rosettes and prizes to be awarded at AGM. Thankyou to our lovely judges Lauren Simmonds, Hayley Ward & Tina Attfield. And the Kivlochan family for having us at Wakes End Farm. Tina also hosted another dressage clinic at Ion farm for us which saw lots of our members signing up for dressage test practice prior to upcoming eventing and pure dressage competitions. Tina has another clinic next month, this time a group pole clinic on 1st October. Our last training event was so popular we needed an extra day to fit everyone in. With the news, trainer Doug Jones was back for one weekend only, The Sunday filled up in under 24 hours of bookings opening! 2 days of sunshine and showjumping course practice were enjoyed at Wakes End Farm. September kicks off with Shillington Camp, hosted at Jane Dawson's yard. I hope all our campers have a lovely time. Bookings are still open for Luffenhall day training where sj on grass and a full xc course from mini logs to 1m+ are available for training with Dawn Fitzhugh & Charlotte Cooper on 24th September Also the winter dressage area qualifier is currently open to enter online with tests from intro to advanced medium running at Bury farm on 9th October. Hopefully there's something for everyone to join in with over the autumn season. Best wishes, Fiona Iszchak ReplyForward
